Nominations Unveiled for 77th Annual Tony Awards
Leading the Way: Alicia Keys' 'Hells Kitchen' and 'Stereophonic'
Nominations for the prestigious American Theatre Wings 77th Annual Antoinette Perry Tony Awards were officially unveiled on Tuesday, April 30th, 2024, in New York City. The nominations were announced during a live ceremony hosted by former Tony winners Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Renée Elise Goldsberry, and were also streamed live on CBS and via TonyAwards.com.
The 2024 Tony Awards will recognize achievements in 26 competitive categories, showcasing the best of Broadway theater. Leading the nominations is Alicia Keys' musical "Hells Kitchen," which received 12 nominations. The play "Stereophonic" received 9 nominations, tying it for second place with "Moulin Rouge! The Musical." Other notable nominees include "The Lion King," "Wicked," and "Stranger Things: The Experience."
The 77th Annual Tony Awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, June 9th, 2024, at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The ceremony will be hosted by Tony Award winner Skylar Astin and will feature performances by the nominees. The Tony Awards are considered one of the highest honors in American theater, and recognize excellence in performance, directing, design, writing, and musical composition.
